US B1/B2 Visitor Visa Checklist
Comprehensive document list for US visitor visa applications
Passport and Application Documents
- Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity beyond intended stay)
- DS-160 online application confirmation
- Visa fee payment confirmation ($160 for B1/B2)
- Appointment booking at US Embassy/Consulate
Financial Documents
- Bank statements (last 6 months showing sufficient funds)
- Pay slips, employment letter, tax returns (proof of strong ties to home country)
- Property ownership documents (if applicable)
- Investment statements/savings (if applicable)
Travel Documents
- Flight itinerary or confirmed booking

- Ground transportation plans (car rentals, train tickets, etc.)
Important Notes
- US embassies schedule appointments up to 10 days after DS-160 submission
- Maximum stay: 182 days (6 months) for tourists/business
- Visa validity: varies by nationality (6 months to 10 years)
- Can apply for extension while in US if needed
