Essential documents for UK Standard Visitor Visa applications
Essential Documents
- Valid passport (valid for entire planned stay)
- Passport-sized photos (35mm x 45mm, less than 6 months old)
- Proof of your visa application (GWF application number)
- Booked appointment at visa application center
Financial Documents
- Bank statements showing funds for your stay (minimum £2,000 per month)
- Pay slips, employment letter, or tax returns (proof of income)
- Pension statements (for retirees)
- Sponsorship letter and bank statements (if sponsored by someone)
- Proof of savings or investments (if applicable)
Travel Documents
- Flight itinerary or confirmed travel tickets
- Hotel/accommodation bookings for entire stay
- Invitation letter from host/family in UK (if visiting relatives)
- Conference/seminar bookings (if attending events)
Important Notes
- UK visa applications use the GWF system
- Maximum stay: 6 months for visitors
- Cannot extend visitor visa in the UK
- Need to apply from outside the UK
- Check visa rules for your specific nationality
