Required documents for Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

Immigration Application Requirements
- Completed IMM 5257 or IMM 5708 Form (Temporarily not required for eTA holders)
- Original passport (valid throughout your stay in Canada)
- Two photocopies of passport identity page
- Single passport photo for each family member (50mm x 70mm background specifications)
- Proof of purpose of travel and intended length of stay
Financial Proof Requirements
- Most recent Notice of Assessment (NOA) from Canada Revenue Agency (if applicable)
- Letter from employer confirming position, salary, and job stability (last 2 years)
- Bank statements for last 4-6 months showing sufficient funds for stay
- Investment statements, property deeds, or other assets if applicable
- Sponsorship letter if someone is sponsoring your stay
Travel and Accommodation Documents
- Flight itinerary or confirmed transportation to Canada (return ticket recommended)
- Hotel bookings/reservations or letter from host explaining accommodation arrangements
- Travel insurance policy (medical coverage is mandatory for visitors)
- Detailed itinerary of your travel plans in Canada

Important Notes
- Application fee: CAD $100 (single) or $500 (family)
- Processing time: 2-8 weeks (extends to 4-10 weeks during peak seasons)
- Apply online via IRCC portal for most applications
- Biometrics collection at a designated VAC (Visa Application Centre)
- Submit application at least 12 weeks before planned travel
